AcousticPC is an independent guide to quiet and silent computing. It exists to explain, in plain language, how to build and maintain computers that run cool and stay quiet — and to do so without trying to sell you anything.
What this guide is
Every page here is educational and vendor-neutral. We describe categories of hardware — fans, coolers, power supplies, cases, damping and isolation — by how they work and why they are quiet or loud, so you can make good choices wherever you shop. There is no store, no cart and no pricing on this site, and we do not recommend specific brands or models. The silent-PC field is large and changes quickly; our aim is to give you durable principles rather than a shopping list that dates in a season.
Our approach
The guide follows a few consistent beliefs. That the biggest wins come from reducing noise at the source, not masking it afterwards. That a large fan turning slowly beats a small fan turning fast almost every time. That efficient, cool-running parts make everything downstream quieter. No prior knowledge is assumed — technical terms are explained the first time they appear — but there is enough depth that a seasoned builder should still find the trade-offs and priorities useful. If you can fit a fan and change a value in your firmware, you can apply everything here.
